Lessons I Can Learn From My Dog, Spot

It has been almost 6 years since, Spot (formerly known as “Riggs”) came into my life on 4-20-2007. I have always been a dog person since I was little. I’ve had various dogs throughout my life and all of them were special in their own way, but Spot is insanely unique and special, of course, in my humble opinion. 😉 I was in grad school when I found Spot and between living situations and not really at a great point to get a dog, though I knew I wanted a dog in the near future. But sometimes life has plans of its own or maybe I am just stubborn and have to have the dog I want even if the timing is horrible. Anyways, first I’ll give a little backstory on Spot and then share some things I feel are valuable lessons I can learn from him. (Yes, I am one of THOSE people who think know their dog is the greatest! Because he just is! 🙂

Starting Over

As you can see, I’ve pretty much completely abandoned my blog for months. I’m surprised to log in and see I even have views at all, even just today. I’ve been really itching to get back to writing. Honestly, most times I would scrap the old stuff and just start a new blog.  Starting over is hard for me, when I trip and fall, I just want to delete things and start something completely fresh and new. It’s the perfectionist in me. (I have seriously re-written entire notebooks full of notes for a class mid-semester because I didn’t think they were organized or neat enough.) But this time I’m going to leave it as it is, with the big gaping hole of missing posts. Also, things have changed a lot from when I was writing on here before.  Continue reading
